Eligibility

Applicants for the TAPMR Scholarship must meet the following eligibility requirements:

• Applicant must have both a M.D. degree and board of physiatrist in his/her own country.
• Applicant must own a foreign citizenship and work in a hospital outside Taiwan.
• Applicants must be fluent in English or Mandarin.
• Applicant must be enrolled in an accredited training program of rehabilitation medicine in Taiwan for at least one month.
• We consider only applicants who receive no other funding. If applicants are approved for any other funding or scholarships later, they will be asked to make choices.
• Applicants are responsible for obtaining a legal visa for their stay in Taiwan and for following the government’s regulations regarding medical practice and employment.

Scholarship

The TAPMR Scholarship will provide up to a US$ 1,500 scholarship for each foreign applicant (maximal 3-5) who attends rehabilitation related training programs held in Taiwan.

How to apply

Applicants should submit the following documents to the office of Taiwan Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by Oct. 30^th deadline for consideration for the scholarship next year. Applicants should email their scholarship applications to the TAPMR office. No faxed scholarship applications will be accepted.

Document required:

• Completed application form with a recent photograph.
• A recommendation letter from your academic supervisor or the director.
• Curriculum vitae.
• Photocopy of your diploma in medicine (M.D.).
• Photocopy of your board certification as a physiatrist in your own country.
• Employment certificate.
• Photocopy of your passport (the page containing personal information and photograph).
• Approval letter or certification of training from the training institute or the advisor in Taiwan.
