Call for Papers: Special Issue on Dysphagia

We are pleased to announce a call for papers for our upcoming Special Issue on Dysphagia. Dysphagia—a complex and often underestimated condition—affects individuals across age groups and clinical settings. This special issue aims to present a comprehensive overview of the latest advances, emerging challenges, and innovative approaches in the understanding, assessment, and management of dysphagia.

Scope and Topics of Interest

We welcome original research, review articles, and clinical perspectives on topics including (but not limited to):

• Pathophysiology and classification of dysphagia
• Neurogenic, structural, and functional causes
• Screening and assessment tools
• Imaging and instrumental evaluations (e.g., VFSS, FEES)
• Rehabilitation strategies and swallowing therapy
• Multidisciplinary team approaches
• Dysphagia in aging, stroke, neurodegenerative diseases, cancer, and pediatric populations
• Innovations in assistive technology and tele-rehabilitation
• Quality of life, caregiver burden, and health systems challenges

All submissions will undergo rigorous peer review. Accepted articles will be published Open Access and promoted through our journal platforms and social media channels. If you are conducting relevant work in this area, we invite you to contribute and join us in advancing knowledge and care for individuals living with dysphagia.
